These rings originated from the concept of setting stones in wood by using the material properties. To set the stones, he played with the expansion and shrinkage of wood when it comes into contact with water. This has ensured that the stones are set in the wood without using additives. The rings should not come into contact with water or extremely high temperature fluctuations, this can cause the wood to expand and loosen the stone. Clean the ring with a slightly damp cloth and do not place it close to a heat source.
